KENNETH P. TAYLOR, DESIGNER/BUILDER

Ken has been called a sort of "old-time" craftsman, having been befriended by and apprenticed to a variety of accomplished metalworkers, visual artists, and tradesmen. He is in his element around the farms, the factories, the swamps, and scrapyards of his native New England – all great sources of inspiration and materials for his eclectic studio furniture and garden sculpture – a style he refers to as "Industrial Americana".

An enthusiastic observer and innovator, Ken is a welder, woodsman, musician, and mechanic with a strong sense of self and of history – lucky enough to have had mentors in a father and two grandfathers who showed him how to build and repair all nature of things, with whatever tools and materials you had on hand, often in unconventional ways.

Forever striving to distill his own essence of artful design and fine workmanship, Kenneth shares his experience and skill through private consultation in the process of creating unique and personal works for the discerning client.
